Hello, my future Officiants! 

My name is Latrice, and I will be your instructor for this course. 

A little bit about me! I love being a Wedding Officiant, and I have been part of the wedding world since 2016.

I have a passion for all things weddings, and in the beginning, back in 2008, my goal was to own an event center and be a wedding planner. There was a wedding venue in my town that was going out of business, and my goal was to become its owner. What I didn't know was that the impressive building I loved had been condemned and was slated for demolition. 

For eight years, I drove by that space in the earth, thinking my dreams had been torn down. Then, in 2016, I had the opportunity to help plan a family member's wedding. The magic came back, and this time I wanted to be the officiant. I met the minister who presided over the ceremony, and after we spoke, I knew this was the right path for me. 

Now, as of today, I have been an active Officiant since 2017. I am the owner of my own wedding venue in downtown Dallas, and I teach people what I do in the community. 

I am an Army Veteran with over 20 years of service, and I remain an active participant in the US Army Reserve, where I serve as a Company First Sergeant.
